Dearest Michael, What absolute fortune to have found you when I went looking for a pure talent, and a compassionate human being to teach Molly, when she was around 10. I found that. What I did not anticipate, but what we both got, was the most incredible, magical, and dearly loved friend. You were everything, Michael - gloriously gifted as a performer, and as a teacher. Knowing just how to navigate the voice of your student, by understanding their voice, and their mind. Understanding things way beyond that. You brought sparkle to my life, at every single lesson, every single concert. Often selflessly, at times when maybe you were the person needing a friend. Passionate, and steadfast, never ever unkind. You emotionally held my hand so many times, and I know that I was not alone in receiving such kindness. The laughter backstage, onstage, at The Academy, is so familiar and unforgettable to those of us who were privileged to have been there, with you and your fiery Celtic soul!!
