Backstage at the Theatre Royal

Created by Kevin 2 years ago

I was in a few operas with Mike. My favourite memory is when we did MacBeth at York Theatre Royal , with York Opera . Mike played the title role, i was Banquo.

Our costumes were made from very heavy canvas , painted to look like armour, fastened at the back.

At the dress rehearsal we soon found out that it was impossible to do up the fasteners yourself, so Mike and I took on the role of ‘dressers’ for each other! We always had a laugh about that everytime we met .

Farewell to a magnificient singer, inspirational teacher, and a great friend to myself and so many others .
