Michael was 'simply the best' - brilliant singer, teacher and voice coach, and I was lucky to be taught by Michael and sing with him for around 23 years. He was always encouraging and understanding, and his lessons were full of joy, (bad) jokes, and laughter. Thank you for everything, for giving me my voice, for your warmth and almost infinite patience. You even once managed to mime me through our duet in concert when the music stand had mysteriously disappeared! You are indeed much loved, and I'll miss you. Susanna
